Scan Alarms FC
Thursday 16th June
As part of our team-building exercises and fundraising for charity, in this case, The N.I. Air Ambulance, Scan Alarms have formed the nucleus of a soccer team for the first time from across our various departments. The team's first outing took place last night at The Dub which is home to Queens University Football Club. Our opposition in this eleven-a-side match played on a league-size pitch were our old friends and rivals Atlas World.
Unfortunately, our first outing did not end in a victory as hoped, but the match was a valuable learning experience and it was good fun for players and spectators. Even if one of our players tended to tackle as if he was playing his regular sport of Rugby and got a yellow card for his efforts which he initially thought was 10 minutes in the sin bin.
A big thank you to all the players and organisers from both teams, well played and well done.
Scan Alarms are proud sponsors of Queens University Football Club and would like to sincerely thank the club for their generous assistance, the use of their excellent changing and playing facilities, the team strip and for laying on pizzas and soft drinks for players and spectators post match.
A rematch is already being talked of and perhaps a bit more training and a few five-a-sides may be required before then. |
