CCTV Systems - Remote Access

Time Lapse VHS video recorders requiring regular tape changes are now largely a thing of the past. They have been superseded by Digital Video Recorders which are capable of recording continuously for several weeks by recording onto internal computer-type hard drives.

When the drives are full they may be programmed to automatically overwrite the oldest recordings to provide continual unattended recording. Should an incident be recorded which you wish to keep it may be downloaded to CD, DVD or USB stick using an integral DVD writer.

Digital recorders are available in 4, 8, 16 and 32 camera capacity models and multiple recorders may be networked together to cope with larger systems.

The onset of digital recording also provides opportunities for you to have password-protected remote viewing of live or recorded footage via broadband. Using the free remote viewing software supplied with each digital recorder you can log on from your computer or laptop wherever you have secure broadband access.

Live CCTV pictures may be viewed on a dedicated LCD colour monitor or via password protection on networked PCs.

Archiving of recordings

It is becoming increasingly the norm for injury claimants to defer their claim for as long as possible; in some instances to ensure that the CCTV recordings in the premises are no longer available for use to refute their claim. Following several successful claims of this nature at least one major insurer is asking for recordings to be stored for three years before deletion. We can provide you with a cost-effective means of archiving high quality footage to comply with this increasingly common requirement.
