Scan Alarms recommend that all Intruder Alarm Systems that are designed
to signal to the police via an Alarm Receiving Centre (Central Station)
should transmit the signals over the British Telecom RedCare high security
signalling network.
RedCare
is the most secure land-line signalling currently available.
The RedCare network, when connected to a professionally installed alarm
system, monitors and checks the telephone line between the protected premises
and the telephone exchange system 24 hours a day.
If the alarm is activated or if the telephone line is cut or disconnected
a signal is transmitted to the Alarm Receiving Centre (Central Station)
who will take the appropriate action.
To ensure that you get the most appropriate response to a signal, the
RedCare transmitter which we connect to the Alarm System can offer up
to eight channels to differentiate between Fire, Intruder, Personal Attack,
Freezer and open and closing procedures.
Existing Customers with Digital Communicator Signalling.
Those existing customers who currently have Digital Communicator signalling
can now have their systems upgraded to the high security RedCare signalling.
The annual costs for RedCare signalling could be no more than your
current costs for Digital Communicator Signalling using a dedicated line.
