Affectionately known locally as Creighton's Garage, this local institution opened its doors as a petrol station and repair workshop for the first time in 1936.
William Creighton, grandfather of the current directors probably never imagined that his family would not only retain and grow the forecourt and workshop over the next eighty years but expand with accident recovery services, a car parts business and subsequently develop into the current 3,000 sq ft Eurospar supermarket which includes a Post Office and Ticketmaster outlet.
The Creighton family took over and redeveloped the Spar supermarket and forecourt in Blacks Road, as well as built a new Eurospar flagship supermarket and forecourt at Balmoral. |
