Systems For Food Processing Locations |
Working within the food processing environment goes hand in hand with specific fire, security and health & safety challenges. No matter the size or intricacy of the task at hand, our access to a wide range of advanced equipment and software together with thirty-five plus years of experience in providing bespoke fire and security solutions to the food sector will help us develop a long-term solution for you.
Whilst CCTV systems are widely recognised for their contribution to deterring and detecting crime, they are also increasingly required to multi-task by monitoring health & safety, manufacturing processes and stock movement. |

Health and Safety |
Whether you simply need to monitor staff behaviour and working practices in and around the plant or have to satisfy stringent requirements from a particular customer, our range of HD cameras can produce high-quality live and recorded images and cope with most environments, including intrinsically safe areas. Where staff are required to wash hands and/or don protective clothing at the point of entry to a production area the system may also be programmed to autoplay a multilingual reminder when motion is sensed in the area by the relevant camera. |

Process Monitoring & Tracking Stock |
Our HD CCTV systems may be used to monitor most industrial manufacturing processes including provision of live and recorded views of processing lines, automated equipment within enclosures, cages or hazardous rooms where human presence would be impractical or unsafe.
Advances in HD camera and network based recording technology allow us to set up multi-megapixel HD cameras to provide views of raw material, production lines and finished goods whilst interfacing with your own stock tracking systems, such as bar coding. The end result is that at each stage in the manufacturing process where a bar code is read it is monitored by a camera and the bar code is “tagged” to the recording. The video recordings may then be searched by individual bar code and the recorder will present you with options to view the item at each read point thus helping you to narrow down the likely point of damage or loss. |

Animal Welfare |
Most major supermarket chains now require their meat producers to follow stringent guidelines throughout the life of the birds or animals. This includes their time from entering lairage at the plant to the point of kill. Some are now insisting on long-term storage of CCTV footage for a minimum of 90 days (but typically 6 months) for access at short notice by the RSPCA, Food Standards Agency (FSA) and veterinary inspectors at any time. Our advanced network based recording technology allows us to set up an efficient and cost effective archiving solution to meet these needs and satisfy your customers.
The scheme will be administered and enforced by the Department for Environment, Food & Rural affairs (DEFRA).
At Scan Alarms and Security Systems, we have experience of designing and installing these systems for major processing plants and abattoirs that supply large retailers throughout the UK and Ireland. |
