Fire Risk Assessment Accreditation
Thursday 15th January
Once again as part of Scan Alarms commitment to ongoing personal development and the provision of a wider range of services to our clients. Two members of our team have completed a Fire Protection Association (FPA) course in fire risk assessment and been awarded official accreditations to allow them to carry out and produce formal fire risk assessments.
The Fire and Rescue Services (NI) Order 2006 and the Fire Safety Regulations (NI) 2010 replaced previous fire safety legislation. The current legislation now places legal responsibilities on employers and any other person(s) with control of premises to assess the risk of harm from fire and to put in place suitable fire safety measures. This assessment must be carried out by a competent person and this FPA training and certification now allows Scan Alarms to provide this important service to our customers. The risk assessment capability complements our existing company and individual's formal qualifications which allow us to design, install, certify and maintain fire alarm systems in buildings.
The staff members attaining the fire risk assessment qualifications are Darren Thompson our senior fire systems design and commissioning engineer (pictured left) and Chris McClung, one of our fire and security systems surveyors.
Please contact us for further information on carrying out a formal fire risk assessment for your premises. |
